Shotgun Soiree

There are two monthly shoots:

The second Sunday of each month is Shotgun Sunday. We usually shoot either trap or skeet and occasionally will shoot sporting clays.

The last Sunday of each month is Rifle/Handgun Sunday. We have aggregates for Bench, Percussion, Flintlock, Musket, Handgun (Pistol and Revolver), In-Line, Ladies, Juniors and Sub-Juniors.

The Club hosts three major shoots each year beginning with the Black Powder SHOTGUN SOIREE, held the second Sunday in April (except when that is Easter). In 2014 we will hold our 18th annual Soiree with shooters coming from all over the United States. This shoot is host to the Texas State Championship for Skeet and Sporting Clays.

On Memorial Day weekend, we host our CARL FLUSCHE MEMORIAL DAY SHOOT (2014 will be the 44nd year). This too brings shooters from all over the country to participate in a three day shoot consisting of all aggregates as well as the Primitive Range (rifle, hawk, knife, etc.) and trap matches.

The last weekend in October finds us hosting our TURKEY SHOOT. This is a prime time for hunters to get their guns sighted in for the coming hunting season. This is for the aggregate matches only (no shotgun) and all prizes are meat.

On Saturday evening after each major shoot, the club prepares a bar-b-que dinner for all the registered shooters. This has become one of the highlights of the three weekends.

Gun Safety, marksmanship, sportsmanship and fellowship are stressed.

Red River Renegades believe ""There are no strangers at our gun range,Only friends we haven't met yet.""
